The owner of this newly purchased loft loved its downtown location but hated its faux rustic finishes. She wanted to create an urban(e) loft to match the location. Working with Lynn Shannon Interior Design, we started by tearing down a brick veneered wall behind the fireplace and removing a heavy timber and iron stairway. The wall was redesigned around a stone-faced ribbon fireplace with art niches, multi-faceted surfaces and contemporary cherry paneling concealing an entertainment center. The new walnut stairway, with its frameless glass railing and meticulously assembled woodwork, seems to float within the space; truly a work of art.
